Best Energy bars by Price
Energy bars ranked by price per bar, cheapest first, with the carb number alongside so value is not just a low sticker.
Bars run from well under a euro to over six euros each in our catalogue, and the sticker misleads more here than anywhere else because bars hold wildly different amounts of carbohydrate and ballast. Per gram of carbohydrate, the lean high-carb race bars are the value play; fat-and-fibre snack bars cost more per gram of usable race fuel and deliver it slower.
That is the right trade for a cafe stop and the wrong one for race day. If you are buying fuel, price the carbohydrate. If you are buying food for a long day out, the fat and fibre are the point and the per-gram maths does not apply.
