Best Drinks by Carbs
Carbohydrate drink mixes ranked by carbs per serving, for athletes who would rather sip their fuel than chew it.
A drink mix is the most efficient way to take carbohydrate because you fuel and hydrate in the same motion, and dose per serving decides how much of your hourly target one bottle covers. The band itself is duration-led: around 60 g/h for a marathon, 60 to 90 g/h beyond two and a half hours, and above 60 g/h only a glucose-fructose blend clears the SGLT1 ceiling.
The catch on this shelf is concentration, not dose. Carbs per 100 ml is what your stomach reads: below 6 percent is hypotonic and empties fastest, 6 to 8 percent is the isotonic comfort zone, and the flagship 80 g-in-500 ml mixes sit near 14 percent. That density is deliberate and it works, but it demands a trained gut. A high number at the top of this list is a gut-training question as much as a shopping one.
